Recent news regarding BTS' departure from a label has shocked netizens and fans!

Just recently, it has been confirmed that BTS has signed a new deal with Universal Music Group for marketing and distribution within the U.S. and other regions.

A couple of days ago, it was reported that BTS was slated to leave Sony Music's Columbia Records after being together for three. Notably, the K-pop boy group first signed with Sony Music for U.S. distribution three years ago in 2018.

BTS has parted ways with the agency to decidedly working with Universal Music Group instead.

On the 22nd of October, HYBE officially announced and confirmed via a statement to multiple media sites that BTS was leaving Columbia Records and has now signed a new distribution and marketing deal with Universal Music Group.

"While we greatly appreciate our time with Sony and will forever be grateful for all they have done and will continue to do, we look forward to our new chapter in partnership with Universal," HYBE expressed in their announcement.

Furthermore, the financial terms of the new signing with Universal Music Group have not been disclosed, and both Universal Music Group and Columbia Records chose to comment and have not released any statement regarding the matter.

Before signing the new deal, Universal Music Group was already overseeing the distribution of BTS's Japanese-language releases, via Universal Music Japan, and earlier this year, HYBE and Universal jointly confirmed a strategic partnership that would be including the debuting of a brand-new boy group!

ARMYs, the fandom name of BTS, express their support towards their favorite K-pop boy group! Fans and netizens are now ready to see more of BTS with their new partnership with Universal Music Group!

Congratulations to HYBE, BTS, and Universal Music Group for the new signing!
