Earlier this year in April, it was revealed that BTS and TXT's agency, HYBE, is on course to debut a new girl group. This girl group will be brought upon by a collaboration between Source Music and HYBE Labels.

To further add to the hype, Bang Si Hyuk (former CEO) and Min Hee Jin (who was a part of K-pop girl groups like Girls' Generation aka SNSD, f(x), and Red Velvet) are going to produce the highly-anticipated girl group.

As of writing this article, 2 days ago on the 9th of August, a Korean news media previously gained a lot of attention after an article they posted that had a statement from an official that came from HYBE. The official gave details regarding HYBE's upcoming girl group.

The statement is as follows:

"We are preparing for the launch of a girl group in the fourth quarter. The exact schedule of their debut, number of members, and the genre of music are still confidential."

To add to this, another statement that made netizens hyped alongside other platforms was the main catch. In the aforementioned article, the official went on to compare HYBE's upcoming group none other than YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK.

"We have high expectations within the company because the members have the visuals and skills that are comparable with BLACKPINK," an official from HYBE shared.

YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK is arguably one of the most popular girl groups not just in Korea but also in the world. So comparing HYBE's rookie girl group to juggernauts in the industry is already something pretty huge.

The pressure is on due to the fact that if HYBE's upcoming girl group does not perform as hot as BLACKPINK in terms of revenue and fans, the statement would be nothing more than just false hype.

HYBE Label has not released any official announcement regarding the girl group nor about the statement.
