Forbes has announced that Rihanna is officially a billionaire. But how did the "Diamonds" singer become the richest female musician?

Rihanna has not released music since her 2016 album "Anti" but this did not affect her growing wealth, thanks to her beauty and fashion ventures. In 2017, the 33-year-old chart-topping musician launched the cosmetic company "Fenty Beauty" with the aim to promote inclusivity among all women everywhere. Aside from her revolutionary cosmetic brand, Rihanna has also ventured into lingerie with the brand "Savage x Fenty."

According to Forbes, Rihanna is currently worth $1.7 billion, with $1.4 billion of which comes from owning 50% of "Fenty Beauty." Currently, Forbes estimates that "Fenty Beauty" is worth $2.8 billion while trends point out towards the company's continued growth. "Fenty Beauty" has been at the forefront of inclusivity among makeup brands and such dedication to maintain its vision continues to push the brand into premiere status.

Meanwhile, it was also reported by Forbes that $270 million of Rihanna's $1.7-billion valuation comes from her stake in "Savage x Fenty." The lingerie brand is currently valued at $1 billion and has raised $115 million in funding earlier this year.

With a current net worth of $1.7 billion, Riri became the richest female musician and second richest entertainer after Oprah Winfrey. The singer-turned-entrepreneur is currently concentrating on her various business ventures.

Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, was born in Barbados on February 20, 1988. She released her first studio album in 2005 and has won nine Grammys. Having over 103 million Instagram followers, Rihanna has become an icon of beauty, fashion, and inclusivity. Throughout her successful music career, Rihanna has released eight albums including "Music of the Sun," "A Girl Like Me," "Good Girl Gone Bad," "Rated R," "Loud," "Talk That Talk," "Unapologetic," and "Anti." In addition, Rihanna has also starred in various films including "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets," "Ocean's 8," and "Guava Island."
