BLACKPINK Sets Records On Spotify & Overcomes BTS, The Beatles, & More On YouTube
Recently, the world's most popular K-pop group, BLACKPINK, once again reached multiple milestones.
Not long ago, YGE's BLACKPINK was dubbed as the first-ever female artist group to have reached a sum of 10 songs that have gotten beyond 200 million streams on Spotify. To add to that accolade, BLACKPINK once again makes history.
It has been confirmed that BLACKPINK has gone beyond 5 billion streams on Spotify. This breakthrough makes Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa the very first K-pop girl group to get this record on Spotify.
Currently, YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK is ranked on the 6th spot as the most-followed group on Spotify. BLACKPINK now has a total of 20.92 million followers.
The number one most followed being Imagine Dragons with 33.6 million followers, then behind them are Queen at #2, BTS at #3, Maroon 5 at #4, and Coldplay at #5 with 33.4 million, 31 million, 30 million, and 29.7 million followers, respectively.
Moreover, groups such as One Direction, Guns N' Rose, Twenty One Pilots, and The Beatles are also on the list with 20.919 million followers, 20.2 million followers, 20.1 million followers and 19. 2 million followers, respectively.
But it does not stop there. The quartet has overcome Marshmello, BTS, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry after YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK was dubbed as the fastest artist to go beyond 40 million subscribers on YouTube, taking them four years and five months.
To further put the cherry on top, the "Lovesick Girls" singers only need around 800,000 streams to also overcome Little Mix as the number 1 most streamed girl group on Spotify.
At present, Little Mix currently has a total of 5.8 billion streams, making them #1. Following close behind them is BLACKPINK with 5 billion streams. Coming in third and fourth place are Fifth Harmony and JYP Entertainment's TWICE with 4.2 billion streams and 2.6 billion streams, respectively.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK! More accolades to come in the year of 2021!
