BTS Speculated To Kick Off The 2019 Good Morning America Summer Concert Series In NYC's Central Park This Month
The New York City's Central Park is expected to be packed with ARMYs when the rumors about BTS participating in the upcoming 2019 Good Morning America Summer Concert Series will turn out to be true. The biggest Korean boy group today has been rumored to participate in the outdoor event of the network.
The speculations about BTS performance in NYC's Central Park started when fans started to notice the Columbia Records' ongoing promotions on radio stations. The American record label is the company that is partially responsible for the management and promotions of BTS and their music in North America.
Apparently, some radio stations have been promising tickets to see BTS in a special performance in New York City by participating in their radio contests. Fans have begun to speculate that BTS could be one of the acts that will be performing in the GMA Summer Concert Series since this is the biggest summer event at the park each year.
Some fans shared on Twitter some samples of the radio promotions. Based on the tweets, it looks like Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are slated to kick off the 2019 Good Morning America Summer Concert Series in NYC's Central Park on May 15. The event could have set a weekday kick off to accommodate on BTS's schedule.
Based on the BTS's upcoming Speak Yourself world tour schedule, the septet's weekend calendar is pretty much filled out with sold-out stadium tour dates until July 14. Big Hit Entertainment is expected to announce more tour dates for the group in the coming days.
The only window that the "Boy With Luv" hitmakers have on their schedule is after their two-night concert in Paris, France on June 7 and 8. The group will resume the Speak Yourself concert in Osaka, Japan on July 6. For this year's Good Morning America Summer Concert Series, it will run from May to September.
GMA has yet to release the official artist line up for this year's event. The network announced their 2018 lineup on May 2, 2018 and it includes BTS's known collaborators Halsey and The Chainsmokers. GMA is expected to drop this year's list anytime from now or possibly after the 2019 Billboard Music Awards on May 1. BTS has been nominated in two categories in BBMAs this year.
The Good Morning America Summer Concert Series is basically one-day concerts that take place in Central Park on weekends where each artist or group gets their own day for a concert. Tickets for the shows are free but on the first-come-first-served basis.
