'Grey's Anatomy' Actor Giacomo Gianniotti Marries His Real-Life Fiancée + 'Grey's' & 'Station 19' Crossover Spoilers
Grey's Anatomy actor Giacomo Gianniotti is officially off the market. He recently tied the knot in Italy with his fiancée, makeup artist Nichole Gustafson.
The 29-year-old actor, who portrays Dr. Andrew DeLuca in Grey's Anatomy, exchanged vows with Gustafson over the weekend in a ceremony in Villa Pocci in Rome, Italy. Gianniotti is seen clad with a classic black and white tuxedo while his bride is dressed in a lace wedding gown with a mermaid silhouette.
On Instagram, Gianniotti shared a photo of him and Gustafson and thanked the people who made the romantic ceremony possible and all the guests who attended the event. The wedding came more than a year after the actor proposed to Gustafson over the 2017 Thanksgiving weekend.
Gianniotti first appeared in Grey's Anatomy as a guest star in Season 11. He was later promoted to series regular in Season 12. Currently, his character, Andrew DeLuca, is paired with lead female character Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
Grey's Anatomy Season 15 is returning this week from a short hiatus. This week's episode is a crossover with Station 19. The story will kick off in Grey's in the episode "What I Did for Love," where Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) treats one of Station 19's firefighters. Dr. Jo Karev (Camilla Luddington) will help out Maggie but while doing so, she will learn a difficult lesson.
Meanwhile, DeLuca's lover, Meredith will work on a family seeking asylum. Apparently, she will be forced to make a decision that will put her career in jeopardy.
Grey's Anatomy Season 15 Episode 23 airs on May 2 at 8 p.m. It will be directed by cast member Jesse Williams. The episode will be followed by Station 19's "Always Ready" at 9 p.m.
It will feature the events leading up to a crew of the fire station ending up in the emergency room of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. The team responds to a fire that breaks out in a coffee beanery.
In a teaser for the Station 19 Season 2 Episode 15, it was revealed that the station crew that ends up in the E.R. is Lucas Ripley (Brett Tucker), the Fire Chief for Seattle Fire Department. It looks like after Maggie attended to him, Chief Ripley will insist on leaving the hospital against his doctor's advice.
Maggie is seen warning Ripley that if he leaves the hospital, his heart will stop. This could mean that Ripley's life now depends on a machine, possibly because of the injuries he sustained during the fire.
Cast member Danielle Savre (Maya Bishop) earlier has teased that Episode 15 is a very emotional one and will have a huge impact on the other characters. According to Savre, viewers should prepare for a "rough episode" in which all of the cast members cried while filming it.
