BLACKPINK in your area! It appears that Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa’s famous line in their songs makes a lot of sense at the moment. It seems that it’s just not just a catchy line anymore, it’s becoming more like a warning to other K-pop artists that they’re taking over the industry.

It has recently been confirmed that BLACKPINK‘s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” MV is officially the most-watched K-pop MV in 24 hours on YouTube. This means that Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa have finally beaten the long-time winner PSY.

PSY had been sitting comfortably at the top for five long years with his “Gentleman” MV that racked up 36 million views. It was first thought that BTS’s “FAKE LOVE” MV already took the top spot after its release back in May. However, the final tally later confirmed that Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook’s latest video was a few views short with a 35.9 million total.

Now, BLACKPINK‘s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” MV is not only the most-watched K-pop MV in 24 hours on YouTube with 36.2 million views, but it ranks seventh overall on YouTube's list of most-watched in 24 hours videos. PSY’s “Gentleman” MV is eight overall, and BTS’s “FAKE LOVE” MV is ninth. Taylor Swift‘s “What You Made Me Do” MV is in first place with 43.2 million views.

This is yet another achievement added under BLACKPINK’s belt after their mega-successful comeback last month. Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa already garnered a cult-like following after their debut in 2016. However, fans were disappointed with YG Entertainment for not giving the girls more exposure that they deserve like other boy groups.

In fact, the BLACKPINK is so popular that even top U.S. labels were in talks with YG Entertainment for a possible American debut for Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa. But even though the girls appreciate the interest in them in the U.S., they expressed that they would want to focus and finish their domestic promotions first before leaping to another opportunity.

YG Entertainment feels the same way as well, so it is safe to say that a BLACKPINK American debut is not happening anytime soon. In the meantime, watch BLACKPINK's "DDU-DU DDU-DU" MV below.
