Richard Madden 2018: Former 'Game Of Thrones' Actor Steals The Limelight During Kit Harington, Rose Leslie's Wedding Ahead Of 'The Bodyguard' Premiere
It finally happened. Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony that is being considered this year's true royal wedding. After all, the event was attended by actual Scottish royalty as well as the couple's Game of Thrones co-stars. However, there is little doubt that most people were utterly distracted by actor Richard Madden who showed up in a traditional kilt.
He may no longer be a part of Game of Thrones, but Richard Madden certainly left a lasting impression for his portrayal of Robb Stark. Interestingly, the character is largely associated with the infamous Red Wedding where Walder Frey assassinated Robb, his wife Talisa, and his mother Catelyn Stark. Luckily, there was nothing bloody about Kit Harington and Rose Leslie's wedding last weekend. Nevertheless, it looked like Madden came to slay and left the ceremony with even more fans looking forward to his new series The Bodyguard.
Kit Harington and Rose Leslie's wedding was held at the Kirkton of Rayne church in Scotland. Not surprisingly, several of the couple's Game of Thrones co-stars showed up to attend the ceremony. Season 8 cast members Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, and Emilia Clarke all flew into Aberdeen to watch the real Jon Snow and Ygritte say their "I dos." However, it was former GoT star Richard Madden who clearly stole the limelight from the groom.
Fans couldn't help but gush over the real Robb Stark as he casually walked to the church in a traditional kilt and trendy aviator glasses to support Jon Snow. Richard Madden became one of the trending topics on Twitter on Saturday up until Sunday. Needless to say, people are already eager to see more of the Scottish actor in his new BBC show The Bodyguard.
In The Bodyguard, Richard Madden will play David Budd, a war veteran who has been assigned to Keeley Hawes' Home Secretary. The two are certainly an unusual pair because of their clashing political views. The Game of Thrones alum will return into action when the show debuts on BBC One later this year.
