BLACKPINK 2018 Return: Official Tracklist, Title Track & Other Important Details Of Lisa, Rose, Jennie, Jisoo's First Mini-Album Revealed
After a year, fans are about to see BLACKPINK return to the spotlight with a new mini-album titled Square Up. This will be the first time that Lisa, Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo will be having a mini-album after the release of "As If It's Your Last" in 2017.
YG Entertainment and its boss, Yang Hyun Suk, have been sharing little details about BLACKPINK's new upcoming album since the news about their return emerged. In fact, the entertainment company recently released a moving teaser for Square Up on its Instagram account. The GIF showed a spinning pink Rubik's cube representing the color of the group.
"#BLACKPINK 1st MINI ALBUM 'SQUARE UP' MOVING POSTER," YG Family captioned the short clip. "1st Mini Album #SQUAREUP 2018.06.15."
YG Family's post was then followed by the release of different Square Up posters. In a tweet shared by the album's Twitter account, it already began the countdown to the LP's release. In another account by BLACKPINK's fanbase, it revealed a poster of the Rubik's cube featuring Lisa, Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo.
Aside from that, BLACKPINK gave their fans a glimpse of Square Up's official tracklist on their Instagram account. The upcoming mini-album has four tracks and its titles are "DDU-DU DDU-DU," "Forever Young," "Really," and "See U Later." "DDU-DU DDU-DU" is the LP's title track produced by YG Entertainment's resident hit-maker, Teddy, per PageOne. To recall, it was recently revealed that Lisa, Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo just finished filming the title track's official music video.
In preparation for BLACKPINK's return, Yang Hyun Suk earlier unveiled the group's official light stick. According to reports, Lisa, Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo participated in designing this accessory.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK's upcoming mini-album, Square Up, is a part of the girls' Square series. It will be the follow up to the release of their debut song, "Square One," in 2016 and their second single album, Square Two, in 2017.
"BLACKPINK has so far presented only singles," YG Entertainment recently said in a press release, via The Korea Bizwire. "The upcoming record is drawing much anticipation from its fans as the first EP from the group." Square Up is set to be released on June 15.
