Avid fans of Electronic Arts' (EA) favorite gaming title The Sims 4 will soon have the chance to add four seasons to the game with the upcoming expansion pack titled The Sims 4: Seasons. Considered as one of the highly requested downloadable contents (DLC) from the gaming community, here are three cool new things to expect from the said pack:

Rotational Seasons, Weather Changes and Customizable Holidays

The upcoming The Sims 4: Seasons will introduce the regular four seasons to the game. In a recent Q&A session Twitter session conducted by The Sims 4 developers, as compiled by SimsCommunity, SimGurus confirmed that players would soon be able to choose which season to start off when first opening their saved games. The game will then rotate from spring, summer, fall, winter and back to spring again, with a default period of seven game days per season.

Gamers can also watch out for occasional weather changes such as a thunderstorms, fog or rain showers. However, hailstorms will not be a part of the new weather changes including varying snow depth during the winter season.

With the change in weather and seasons, The Sims 4 gamers will be able to customize their holidays. Game developers revealed that holiday planning such as a hosting a Halloween event or cool Christmas festivities might soon be added through the upcoming The Sims 4: Seasons expansion pack.

New Weather Controller, Thermostat, and Calendars

The Sims 4 fans who would like to have prolonged seasons will also have the option to do so with the new weather controller. The said gadget is one of the new objects included in The Sims 4: Seasons expansion pack. However, only handy Sims will be able to control the said device where one of the effects may be electrifying.

Apart from the weather controller, The Sims 4 developers also added a functional thermostat and calendar to the life simulation game. Calendars were revealed to work by days instead of the usual decorative monthly calendar already available in EA's gaming title.

Meanwhile, the thermostat can help keep sim characters comfortable indoors during specific seasons. However, the new The Sims 4: Seasons thermostat can also be detrimental to a sim's life if it is set at very cold or very hot temperatures.

Object Interactions and New Behaviors

Given the four new seasons to be introduced to The Sims 4, gamers can look forward to seeing new object interactions and sim pet behaviors. Fireplaces will soon be functional objects that can warm sim characters during cold seasons, while pools can cool off hot sims during summer.

The Sims 4: Seasons will also change the way pets will behave during weather changes. Some pets might opt to stay outside for a little while to enjoy the rain, while other pets might immediately run inside the house to avoid getting wet.

These are just some of the new gameplay interactions and items that will be added to The Sims 4. Other objects include new wardrobe choices, recipes, harvestable goods and more.

The Sims 4: Seasons expansion pack will be available on June 22 for PC.
