Before fans got to see Fifty Shades Freed in February, the 36-year-old actor, model, and musician revealed how he really feels about Dakota Johnson earlier this year. Jamie Dornan was a guest star on Jimmy Kimmel Live! at the time and shared the bond that he and his leading lady had on and off the set.

“This is gonna sound bad, but it’s almost like brother-sister,” Jamie Dornan said. “We just… cos I am married, she’s had quite a lot of relationships in the time we’ve known each other… so that’s happening in our own lives. And you have this mutual love and respect for each other. We know each other intimately.”

As it turns out, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson’s love for each other is nothing romantic at all. In fact, earlier reports revealed that the Fifty Shades Freed actor and the 28-year-old actress and model were already good pals before taking on their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades trilogy.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson had incredible chemistry which led viewers to think that something romantic might be brewing between the Fifty Shades Freed co-stars. But not only is the actor happily married to Amelia Warner, they have also denied the dating rumors numerous times.

Despite being heavily shipped to each other, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson still maintained their close relationship. In fact, the Fifty Shades Freed actor had nothing but good things to say about the How To Be Single actress.

“Dakota’s an incredible actress, and a true professional,” Jamie Dornan said in an interview. “As silly as she can be - and she can be very silly - she just has a great way of navigating every area Ana is put through.” He then concluded by saying that Dakota Johnson is a “very naturally gifted actor.”
