"Pokemon GO" faithfuls are likely to have a busy and exciting weekend collecting grass type critters as Niantic announced their weekend event dubbed the Worldwide Bloom Weekend. Players can expect loads of green-powered Pokemons during the event's run as these type of monsters are expected to spawn like crazy.

The grass type pokemon game event goes live today as announced by Niantic adding that it will be on a limited run that will end on Monday, May 8. Some players, however, have something in mind other than the mentioned event.

As per "Pokemon GO's" website, Professor Willow asks the player base to help him on his ongoing research about these grass type monsters. For proper documentation and proof that players indeed caught a green loving pokemon, the virtual professor asks gamers to take a snapshot of the creature via "Pokemon GO's" augmented reality camera and post it over on social media through #PokemonGO.

Apart from the increased spawn rate of grass type pokemons, Niantic has yet to reveal the add-ons and bonuses that will go alongside "Pokemon GO's" limited event. However, long-time players and game critics are in unison that shinies might still be spotted during the mobile game's weekend event. Nevertheless, such information should be considered circumstantial as of the moment.

Korea Portal also reported beforehand that Niantic's John Hanke previously stressed that legendary pokemons are also bound to set foot in "Pokemon GO." That being said, fans believe that the legendaries might arrive during the AR title's first anniversary as the CEO hinted that these heavyweights will arrive soon enough.

Also, it was announced that Niantic has partnered with Knight Foundation as the two entities have put up an initiative to have players gather once again and have them capture pokemons altogether. Moreover, the community-based event is said to promote social interaction among players, and a way to rediscover their city through "Pokemon GO," Polygon has learned.

The community event will be a nationwide affair and will commence on May 7 in Charlotte, North Carolina. PokeStops and gym locations will be laid throughout the city and such event is just right on time as the grass type pokemon event goes alongside it. Watch a video about "Pokemon GO" here:
