IU Tops April Singer Brand Reputation Chart After 'Palette' Album Release, Beats BTS, TWICE
South Korean crooner IU recently made her music industry comeback with the release of her fourth studio album titled "Palette." Apart from topping various local music charts with her new song, the Kpop singer also surpassed BTS and TWICE to nab the first spot on a brand reputation chart.
IU rose to the top of the Brand Reputation Index for singers for the month of April. For the period of March 20 to April 21, the songstress climbed more than five spots to claim the said list's first place with 10,286,346 index points, according to brand data from the Korean Business Research Institute, as cited by Korean news outlet Kookje.
For the month of March, IU occupied the ninth spot on the said chart. However, for the month of April, the "Good Day" songstress landed the top spot besting TWICE and BTS. Former brand index topper TWICE dropped to number three while BTS climbed one spot to claim the said chart's second place.
IU's sudden rise to the said brand index's top spot can be attributed to the Kpop star's new album "Palette." The said album marked the singer's comeback to the music stage. Having been active in South Korea's acting industry in the recent months, the singer was last seen in the historical series "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" where she portrayed the lead character Hae Soo.
Meanwhile, IU's new song, that has the same name as the new album, recently topped several local charts several hours after its release. "Palette" nabbed the first spot on eight real-time music charts namely Melon, Mnet, Bugs, Soribada, Naver, olleh, Monkey3 and Genie for the period of April 21, Friday, according to Soompi.
The title track for IU's new "Palette" album boasts of a soothing melody and a cool beat. The song also features a rap collaboration with BigBang leader G-Dragon.
