South Korea will continue to experience the hot and humid temperature because the heat wave is forecast to last until August of this year.

The summer season in South Korea usually starts in the month of June and ends in the month of August. It is one of the proofs that Korea is a land of extremes. The temperature can go over 38°C with an average of 20°C between June and September.

The extremely hot temperature causes sleepless nights to a lot of Korean people. In Seoul, there's a total of 15 tropical nights when the mercury did not dip below 25 degrees from July 22 to August 7 and will continue for another week at least.

According to the forecast of Korea Meteorological Administration, Seoul will experience at least 25 tropical nights this year if the weather pans out as, second only to the record in summer of 1994 when the capital experienced 36 tropical nights.

Meanwhile, the daytime temperature is expected to reach 29 to 35 degrees throughout this week -- 34 degrees in Seoul and Daejeon, 35 degrees in Daegu and Gwangju, and 33 degrees in Busan.

In order to fight the extremely hot weather, people tend to go the beaches to cold down themselves and eat cold watermelon, sweet juicy peaches and cold noodles.
