Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Gave $26 Million to 20 Charities. They Didn't Mention the Wedding.
The announcement went out Monday in a one-paragraph press release. "This week, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift donated $26 million to charities across the United States." A list of 20 organizations followed. No mention of the wedding widely reported to be taking place at Madison Square Garden on Friday.
The 20 recipients span food banks, children's hospitals, music education programs, and animal welfare organizations across seven cities. Nine are based in New York: City Harvest, Food Bank for NYC, New York Cares, Education Through Music, Answer the Call, Musical Mentors Collaborative, After-School All-Stars New York, Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU Langone, and MSK Kids at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Three are in Kansas City, Kelce's home market - Harvesters Community Food Network, Children's Mercy Hospital, and After-School All-Stars Cleveland. Swift's hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania received a donation through Helping Harvest. The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, The Store in Nashville, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, the ASPCA, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Grammy in the Schools, and Musical Mentors round out the list.
Several organizations confirmed individual amounts. City Harvest, New York City's largest food rescue organization, received $1 million. "This donation is a love letter to New York," said CEO Jilly Stephens. The Rhode Island Community Food Bank also received $1 million. Education Through Music received $2 million - the largest single confirmed figure - with CEO Janice Wineman telling TMZ the funds will expand music education to underserved children across New York City, hire additional teachers, and provide instruments to students currently without access. The organization serves roughly 18,000 children in the city.
The full distribution across the remaining 15 organizations was not disclosed. At $26 million total, with $4 million confirmed across three recipients, the average per remaining organization exceeds $1.4 million.
Swift has a documented pattern of large-scale charitable giving, though in most cases the amounts have been revealed by recipient organizations rather than by her team. During the Eras Tour, food banks in each tour city quietly received donations as the tour passed through. Swift also donated to Florida hurricane relief, Tennessee tornado relief, Los Angeles wildfire relief, and the American Heart Association in recent years. The Monday announcement marks the first time her team has proactively released a total figure and full recipient list in a single statement.
The Madison Square Garden wedding - confirmed by two law enforcement sources to CNN, with NYPD officers briefed on the event and West 31st and 33rd Streets closed through the weekend - was not referenced anywhere in the release. The couple has not publicly confirmed it. Selena Gomez was photographed Thursday evening in what appeared to be rehearsal dinner attire. Jack Antonoff was spotted in the same area.
The $26 million announcement, issued without context or occasion stated, stood on its own.
