Busan Has 100,000 BTS Fans Arriving This Week. The City Is Ready.
Sports Complex Station, the Busan Metro stop closest to Asiad Main Stadium, is currently wrapped in 250 meters of fan-funded BTS photography. Most of the images are of Jimin and Jungkook - both born and raised in Busan. The concerts are in four days.
BTS performs at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12 and 13 as part of the Arirang World Tour. City officials expect up to 100,000 attendees, with a significant share traveling from overseas. To manage it, Busan is adding 20 trains to Metro Line 3 on both concert days and extending service hours after each show ends. A stretch of road near the venue - Cheyukgongwon-ro - closes to traffic beginning June 12 at 9 a.m. and stays closed through the end of the June 13 show.
The scale reflects where the tour is. The Arirang World Tour opened April 9 in Goyang and runs 85 shows across 34 cities and 23 countries - the largest tour ever mounted by a Korean artist. Busan is the eighth stop. The screen door wraps at Sports Complex Station stay up through June 30; the digital banner installations come down Sunday.
June 13 is BTS's debut anniversary - their 13th - which adds a layer of context the venue can't quite contain. It's the same stadium where BTS held "Yet to Come in Busan" in October 2022, their final full-group appearance before members began enlisting. That show drew roughly 50,000 in attendance and was livestreamed globally. The June 13 performance also streams live to cinemas worldwide, ticketed separately through Fandango and AMC in the US.
The fan infrastructure around the shows has expanded well beyond the stadium. Starting June 10, Gwangan Bridge and Busan Tower are lit purple through the concert weekend. A drone light show is scheduled over Gwangandaegyo Bridge on June 12-13. Fan events including a Samsung Galaxy experience zone and a "Love Song Lounge" at Haeundae Beach are running through June 14.
The Busan run is the second and final Korea stop on the tour. BTS does not return to Korean venues until the tour wraps in March 2027.
