BIGBANG Is Going Back on Tour. The First Shows Start in August.
Nine years since their last world tour, BIGBANG announced BIGSHOW: REBORN at Coachella on April 19. G-Dragon confirmed the news toward the end of the group's Outdoor Theatre set, telling a crowd of tens of thousands: "BIGBANG's 20th anniversary world tour will begin this August. It's going to be crazy, no doubt. So do not miss out and stay tuned."
No dates, venues, or ticket information have been released yet. YG Entertainment and Live Nation are expected to publish details in the weeks ahead.
The announcement landed on the same weekend G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung performed as a trio for the second time at the festival, completing both Coachella weekends. It was the group's first major U.S. festival appearance, and it made up for a 2020 slot that was canceled when the festival shut down due to COVID-19.
Daesung described Coachella as a "reset" for the group. Taeyang framed the tour against the group's timeline: "As we mark our 20th anniversary, we're deeply grateful for the love, support, and patience you've shown us over the years. We wouldn't be here without you." The group then closed with "Still Life" - their 2022 single released while Seungri's legal case was still ongoing and before any reunion was certain - and left the stage.
BIGBANG debuted in August 2006 under YG Entertainment. Their last group world tour, the Last Dance Tour, ran through 2017 and 2018. After that, the group's activity stalled for years: Seungri faced criminal charges and was convicted in 2022, T.O.P departed from the military service controversy and eventually exited the group, and individual members pursued solo careers. G-Dragon released solo material. Taeyang collaborated with BTS member Jimin on "VIBE" in 2023. BIGBANG did not perform together as a unit until YG announced Coachella 2026 as part of the group's 20th anniversary activities.
For US audiences, the shape of the situation is recognizable. A legacy group - defined by a specific era, fractured by scandal and time apart, missing one of its original members - attempts to reclaim its status on the biggest available stage. Whether BIGSHOW: REBORN translates that goodwill into a full stadium run remains to be seen. The Coachella crowd's reaction suggested the demand is there. The setlist - "Bang Bang Bang," "Fantastic Baby," "Bae Bae," solo stages, a Taeyang/G-Dragon "Good Boy" duet - ran like a catalog reassertion, not a tentative comeback.
Taeyang has a solo album, Quintessence, releasing May 18. G-Dragon hinted at new group material during the Coachella set without providing specifics.
Full tour details, including whether T.O.P will participate in any capacity, have not been confirmed.
