Yuna of ITZY Goes Solo With 'Ice Cream' — and She's Already Done the Homework

When ITZY's youngest member steps out on her own March 23, she won't be starting from scratch. Yuna has spent the past year quietly stacking credentials outside the group, and the solo debut landing this weekend is less a leap into the unknown than a logical next move.

Ice Cream, her debut mini-album out via JYP Entertainment, carries four tracks: the English-language title song, plus "B-Boy," "Blue Maze," and "Hyper Dream." The album drops digitally at 6 p.m. KST, with a countdown livestream at 5 p.m. A U.S. physical release and remixes follow on March 27.

The promotional rollout has been unhurried and deliberate. Concept photos ran March 10-12, with a final image released at midnight on March 13 - Yuna in white, styled for something closer to fantasy than pop promo. The trailer that preceded it showed her cycling through several looks and aesthetics, which is probably the point: Ice Cream appears designed to introduce Yuna as a flexible solo presence, not just ITZY's maknae with a side project.

She's the second group member to go solo under JYP, behind leader Yeji, who released her debut mini-album AIR in March 2025. That two consecutive springs have now produced ITZY solo debuts suggests a deliberate label strategy - building individual profiles without pulling the group apart.

What distinguishes Yuna's timing is what she did between Yeji's debut and her own. From January 17 to March 8, 2026, Yuna appeared in the tvN and Netflix weekend drama Undercover Miss Hong - a retro workplace comedy set in 1997 Seoul, led by Park Shin-hye. Yuna played Hong Jang-mi, the younger sister of Park's lead character. It was her first acting role, and doing it opposite one of Korea's most experienced television actresses wasn't a soft landing. The drama ran 16 episodes and streamed globally on Netflix.

ITZY itself has been in full swing throughout all of this. The group's Tunnel Vision World Tour opened in Seoul across three nights at Jamsil Indoor Stadium, February 13-15, before heading overseas. Yuna's solo debut lands while the tour is still running - which is its own kind of statement about how much the K-pop industry now expects its performers to carry simultaneously.
