INFINITE's Sunggyu Returns After Nearly 3 Years with New Mini Album 'OFF THE MAP' — Out March 2

Three years is a long time in K-pop. For Kim Sunggyu, leader and main vocalist of INFINITE, the wait has been even more personal - marked by label changes, a family loss, and the quiet, deliberate work of building something worth the silence.
That wait ends March 2.
On February 27, Sunggyu's label Billions dropped the music video teaser for "When I Think About You" (널 떠올리면), the title track of his 6th mini album OFF THE MAP. It's his first solo release since 2023 S/S Collection in June 2023 - a 2-year-8-month gap that his fans have felt every day of.
What the Teaser Shows
The clip wastes no time establishing a mood. A hand reaching out from darkness. A tight close-up of Sunggyu's eyes. Inverted reflections and a flame that seems to bleed directly into his gaze. By the time a lone silhouette appears in an empty room at the end, the teaser has done exactly what it needs to: made the full release feel necessary.
"When I Think About You" is a progressive pop ballad - layered, cinematic, built to expand. NELL frontman Kim Jong-wan, who has shaped some of Sunggyu's most beloved solo work including Shine and 27, handled the writing, composition, and arrangement. Composer Spaceboy also contributed. It's a pairing that carries real history, and that familiarity shows in the track's sense of emotional weight.
The Album
OFF THE MAP runs six tracks: the title song, "Over It," "Dreaming," "Drawing," "Answer," and an instrumental version of "When I Think About You." The album's central theme - stepping off a predetermined path to find your own - isn't just a concept. For Sunggyu, it reads as something lived.
He left Woollim Entertainment, his label of over a decade, in 2021. He moved to Billions and rebuilt his solo career from the ground up. In February 2025, his older sister passed away after a long illness, forcing him to step back from group activities at a difficult moment. Through all of it, he kept working - musicals, concerts, collaborations - never fully going quiet.
OFF THE MAP is described as "a declaration of finding and proclaiming my own path." Sunggyu's upcoming LV4 (Leap To Vector) solo concert tour, for which all dates have already sold out, is framed as the next step: proving that path in front of a live audience.
