Three and a half years after Born Pink, BLACKPINK dropped their third Korean mini album, DEADLINE, today at 2 p.m. KST - and the buildup to this release has been anything but quiet.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa spent the intervening years building out solo careers that only sharpened the anticipation for a group comeback. Rosé performed "APT." with Bruno Mars at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Jennie released her debut solo project Ruby. Lisa appeared in The White Lotus and dropped Alter Ego. Jisoo put out the EP Amortage. By the time BLACKPINK officially announced DEADLINE on January 14, 2026, the group's YouTube channel was already gaining roughly 10,000 new subscribers a day.

Then, on February 20, they crossed 100 million subscribers - the first official artist channel in YouTube's history to do so. YouTube marked it with a custom Red Diamond Creator Award. The channel now holds nine videos above one billion views and over 41 billion total views since launching in June 2016.

What's on the Album

DEADLINE runs five tracks. It opens with "JUMP," the pre-release hard-style EDM single produced by Diplo that dropped in July 2025 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 - BLACKPINK's third chart-topper there. It also peaked at No. 28 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, their tenth career entry on that chart.

The title track "GO" follows as track two. YG describes it as an anthem of courage and solidarity, built around the group chant "Blackpink'll make ya" over hard-driving production. Rounding out the album are "Me and My," "Champion," and "Fxxxboy."

YG Entertainment says the album captures "irreversible peak moments" - a statement as much about ambition as about nostalgia.

The Records Already on the Books

DEADLINE arrives at the end of a period that rewrote what a K-pop girl group could accomplish commercially.

Born Pink (September 2022) debuted at No. 1 on both the U.S. Billboard 200 and the UK Official Albums Chart - the first K-pop girl group album to top both simultaneously. It was certified a double million-seller by South Korea's Circle Chart within weeks of release. The Born Pink World Tour that followed ran 66 shows across 22 countries, drew 1.8 million attendees, and grossed $330 million - at the time, the highest-grossing concert tour ever by a female group.

The Deadline World Tour, which launched in July 2025 as the group's first all-stadium run, added more firsts. BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to headline Wembley Stadium. The 33-date tour closed out in Hong Kong in January 2026.

Beyond the Music

The DEADLINE rollout has extended into physical spaces in notable ways. A collaboration with the National Museum of Korea runs February 27 through March 8: the museum exterior lights up pink each night, and all four members recorded audio guides for eight artifacts - Jisoo and Jennie in Korean, Rosé in English, Lisa in Thai. It's the first large-scale tie-up between a K-pop act and the state-run museum, and it sold out its pre-listening event within minutes of reservations opening.

A South Korean government report on global Hallyu media coverage recently placed BLACKPINK at the top with a 14.2% share of K-pop buzz overseas - ahead of Rosé (9.0%), BTS (7.3%), and Jennie and Lisa (5.0% each).

DEADLINE is streaming now on all major platforms.
