TWS Drops Korean Version of Billboard Japan Hit "Nice to see you again"
Pledis Entertainment's rising boy group TWS released their digital single "다시 만난 오늘" (Today We Meet Again) on February 9, 2026, delivering a Korean adaptation of their chart-topping Japanese debut track.
The six-member group-Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin-reimagined "Nice to see you again" (Japanese title: はじめまして) with fresh Korean lyrics while preserving the song's core message about unexpected reunions becoming lasting connections.
Japan Success Drives Korean Release
The original Japanese version dominated Billboard Japan's Hot 100 chart and topped Oricon's weekly rankings following its June 30, 2025 release. The single achieved platinum certification from the Japan Record Association after surpassing 250,000 shipments and helped TWS secure second place on the 2025 Oricon Year-End New Artist Ranking.
Member Youngjae explained the decision to create a Korean version: "Many fans loved the Japanese debut single regardless of the language barrier, and we wanted the Korean-language version to be a gift to them."
What Makes the Korean Version Different
The track features completely new Korean lyrics while maintaining the original's winter atmosphere and reunion theme. Dohoon described the appeal: "The feeling of first encounters coming back to life brings those warm, fuzzy memories of meeting someone special for the first time."
The choreography includes signature moves from the Japanese version-hand-waving greetings and gestures depicting fireworks and sky lanterns-that visualize the lyrics naturally. Member Jihoon noted the intuitive choreography allows fans to understand the story just by watching.
2026 Launch and Upcoming Activities
TWS will promote the single through week-long music show performances. A public fan signing event is scheduled for February 14 at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. The group will also hold their second fan meeting "2026 TWS 2ND FANMEETING <42:CLUB> IN SEOUL" from March 27-29 with both online and offline sessions.
The release follows TWS's successful fourth mini-album "play hard," which generated viral momentum through the "Angtal Challenge" (앙탈 챌린지) on social media. The challenge from title track "OVERDRIVE" surpassed 1.1 million TikTok videos and drove the song to re-enter Melon charts in January 2026, reaching No. 28 on the daily chart.
Member Hanjin expressed their 2026 goals: "This year represents a new beginning for us. We want to move forward with determination and create lasting memories with 42 (fandom name) through sincere music and performances."
The Korean version of "Nice to see you again" strengthens TWS's domestic presence while building on their Japan breakthrough, positioning the group for expanded activities across both markets in 2026.
