T.O.P Recruits Nana for March 2026 Solo Comeback After 13-Year Hiatus
After School's Nana will star in the music video for T.O.P's upcoming solo release, marking the former BIGBANG rapper's return to music after 13 years.
Industry sources confirmed February 9 that Nana completed filming for T.O.P's new single last year, with the track scheduled to drop in March 2026. The project represents both artists' first collaboration and Nana's first music video role since appearing in Baek Ji Young's "That's Right" in 2024.
T.O.P teased his comeback on January 1 with an Instagram post announcing "A new album is on the way" alongside the phrase "Another Dimension," believed to be the title of his first mini-album. The release follows his last solo work, 2013's digital single "DOOM DADA," and marks his first music since departing BIGBANG in May 2023.
The 37-year-old rapper, born Choi Seung-hyun, stepped away from entertainment after receiving a 10-month suspended prison sentence in July 2017 for marijuana use during his mandatory military service. He returned to the public eye through Netflix's "Squid Game 2" in December 2024, playing Thanos, a disgraced rapper battling addiction.
T.O.P left YG Entertainment in February 2022 after 16 years and officially confirmed his BIGBANG exit in May 2023 via Instagram. In a January 2025 interview, he expressed remorse for his past, stating he "felt no right to stay" in the group after causing damage through his conviction.
The upcoming release reunites T.O.P with "Squid Game" art director Chae Kyoung-sun, who will oversee production for multiple music videos. The Emmy Award-winning designer previously collaborated with T.O.P on the hit Netflix series.
With filming complete and a March release confirmed, T.O.P's comeback represents one of K-pop's most anticipated returns, combining star power from Nana's involvement with the artistic vision of award-winning creative talent.
