NMIXX member Sullyoon joins singer-songwriter Parc Jae Jung for a new ballad collaboration. The duet "Always" releases February 25 at 6 PM KST on major streaming platforms.

How a 2023 Cover Led to This Collaboration

The partnership traces back to Sullyoon's 2023 appearance on KBS's Lee Mujin Service. She performed Parc's hit "Let's Say Goodbye" and nailed a high-note challenge five keys above the original pitch. The cover went viral and caught Parc's attention while he was serving his mandatory military service.

Parc enlisted on May 21, 2024, and was discharged on November 20, 2025. During his service, he wrote "Always" with a female duet in mind. When searching for the right voice, he kept thinking about Sullyoon's powerful cover. After his discharge, he reached out to propose the collaboration.

What Fans Can Expect

JYP Entertainment released a preview on February 6 featuring both vocalists singing: "Please stay just as we are now / To me who's still suffering / Always just as we are now."

The song is a traditional pop ballad with orchestral arrangements. It explores holding onto memories even when they're painful-a common theme in Korean ballads but delivered through both artists' emotional vocal styles.

Sullyoon's Solo Momentum

While Sullyoon remains a vocalist in JYP's six-member group NMIXX, she's been building her solo profile. Beyond Lee Mujin Service, she's appeared on JTBC's Begin Again Open Mic and regularly posts vocal covers on NMIXX's YouTube channel.

NMIXX itself is riding high from their October 2025 album Blue Valentine. The title track topped the Circle Digital Chart and became the first JYP girl group song to achieve a Real-Time All-Kill in seven years. They're now preparing for their first international tour "Episode 1: Zero Frontier" with dates across Europe and North America.

Parc Jae Jung's Post-Military Return

"Always" marks Parc's first release since completing military service. The 29-year-old singer gained fame as the winner of Mnet's Superstar K5 in 2013. His 2023 song "Let's Say Goodbye" became a breakout hit, with numerous K-pop idols covering it and introducing his music to younger audiences.

He released "Still Yours" in May 2024 just before enlisting. "Always" represents his comeback after 18 months of service.

Release Information

"Always" will be available February 25, 2025, at 6 PM KST across streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Korean services Melon and Genie.
