BTS Earns New Platinum and Gold Certifications in Japan as March Comeback Approaches
BTS is racking up streaming milestones in Japan just weeks before their highly anticipated comeback, with two more tracks crossing major certification thresholds.
The Recording Industry Association of Japan announced Thursday that "Yet To Come" has earned platinum certification after surpassing 100 million streams, while "Love Maze" secured gold for crossing 50 million streams-both as of December 2025. The additions bring BTS's total to 16 platinum and 48 gold certifications from the RIAJ, the most of any K-pop act.
The streaming surge isn't coincidental. With BTS set to release their first full-group album in nearly four years on March 20, fans have been revisiting the catalog, pushing older tracks back into heavy rotation across streaming platforms.
Only K-Pop Act with Multiple Diamond Certifications
What really sets BTS apart in Japan isn't just the volume of certifications-it's reaching the top tier. They're the only K-pop group with diamond certifications (awarded at 500 million streams), having achieved the milestone with both "Dynamite" and "Butter."
"Dynamite" made history in February 2022 as the first track by a foreign artist to go diamond in Japan, hitting the mark in just 529 days-the fastest in RIAJ history at the time. "Butter" followed in July 2024, making BTS the first non-Japanese act with multiple diamond certifications.
Fan Favorites Finding New Life
"Yet To Come," the lead single from BTS's 2022 anthology album "Proof," reflects on the group's journey while looking ahead to what's still to come. The track took on added meaning as members began enlisting for military service shortly after its release, and it's now streaming stronger than ever as fans prepare for the group's return.
"Love Maze," a B-side from 2018's "LOVE YOURSELF 轉 'Tear,'" has always been an ARMY favorite. The track's message about not losing each other through life's complications resonates even more deeply after the group's time apart.
Historic Comeback on the Horizon
BTS will release "ARIRANG" on March 20, 2026-their first album as a complete group since all seven members completed South Korea's mandatory military service. The 14-track album explores themes of identity, longing, and connection, according to Big Hit Music.
A day after the album drops, BTS will perform a special comeback show at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul. Then on April 9, they'll kick off the Arirang World Tour at Goyang Sports Complex, launching what's being called the largest tour in K-pop history.
Record-Breaking Tour Already Sold Out
The numbers backing this comeback are staggering. All 41 announced shows in North America and Europe sold out within hours, with additional dates added in Tampa, Stanford, and Las Vegas due to overwhelming demand. The tour will eventually span 82 shows across 34 cities worldwide.
BTS will make history at several venues, becoming the first Korean act to headline solo concerts at major US stadiums including Raymond James Stadium, Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Stanford Stadium, Gillette Stadium, M&T Bank Stadium, and AT&T Stadium. They'll also perform at Belgium's King Baudouin Stadium and Germany's Allianz Arena.
The tour features a 360-degree stage setup designed to create a more immersive experience, with additional dates in Japan and the Middle East expected to be announced later.
Between climbing streaming numbers in Japan, sold-out stadium tours, and their first group album in years, BTS's 2026 comeback is shaping up to be one of the biggest events in global music.
