Rookie boy group TWS is bringing their Japanese breakthrough back home. PLEDIS Entertainment announced Tuesday that the six-member group will release "다시 만난 오늘" (Today We Meet Again) on February 9-a Korean re-recording of their chart-topping Japanese debut "Nice to see you again."

The move capitalizes on momentum from their fourth EP "play hard," which continues riding the viral "OVERDRIVE" challenge across social media platforms.

Japanese Success Story

TWS made serious noise in Japan last summer. "Nice to see you again" (はじめまして/Hajimemashite) hit #1 on Billboard Japan's Hot 100 and swept Oricon's weekly charts with dual crowns. The Recording Industry Association of Japan awarded it Platinum certification in September 2025 after shipping 250,000+ copies.

The track became only the second foreign song to top Billboard Japan's Hot 100 in 2025-following Rosé and Bruno Mars' "APT." According to Oricon, it posted the highest first-week sales among international artist singles released that year, more than doubling TWS's previous Japanese debut numbers.

The group performed it across year-end specials, festivals, and award shows throughout Japan. That reception convinced PLEDIS to create this Korean adaptation.

Timing the Release

The digital single drops while TWS rides domestic momentum from "OVERDRIVE." That October 2025 release has spawned over 1.1 million TikTok videos featuring its shoulder-shaking "Angtal Challenge," racking up 2.5 billion cumulative views as of late January 2026.

"Play hard" moved 640,000 copies in its first week-a new personal record for the group, who debuted just two years ago in January 2024. Their debut track "plot twist" still charts on Melon nearly 24 months after release.

Taiwan Shows Follow

Two days before the single's release, TWS kicks off their Greater China tour in Macau (January 24-25), then heads to Kaohsiung Music Center for January 31 and February 1 concerts. All shows sold out immediately, including restricted-view seats.

These follow a successful 2025 touring year: 16,000 fans across three Seoul shows at Jamsil Indoor Stadium, plus 50,000 attendees through 13 Japanese performances in six cities.

The group-Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin-operates under PLEDIS Entertainment's "boyhood pop" concept, focusing on youthful emotion and everyday moments. Bringing their Japanese hit to Korean listeners feels like a natural next step for the rapidly growing act.
