BTS Jungkook's "Orchid" Vinyl Leads Multiple Sellouts for ARIRANG Album
BTS member Jungkook has once again proven his commercial power with a series of rapid sellouts across multiple products, earning renewed recognition as the group's "Sold-Out King."
First to Sell Out Across Major Retailers
On January 16, BTS announced their fifth studio album ARIRANG, scheduled for release on March 20, 2026, alongside individual member vinyl editions. Jungkook's orchid-colored vinyl quickly emerged as the fastest-selling version across multiple platforms.
At U.S. retailer Target, Jungkook's ARIRANG Orchid vinyl became the first member version to sell out, achieving this status three times. On Weverse Shop, his vinyl sold out in under 10 minutes-the quickest among all seven member editions.
The pattern repeated internationally. European K-pop retailer ipurple and Australian music store iHeartPopAus both reported Jungkook's Orchid vinyl as their first member-specific version to reach sold-out status. In China, the third pre-order round on e-commerce platform PINKY saw Jungkook's vinyl sell out ahead of other members.
Magazine Editions Follow Suit
Jungkook's selling power extended beyond vinyl. The 2026 Spring Special Edition of ELLE Japan featuring the BTS member sold out immediately after pre-orders opened on HMV&BOOKS' online store.
Additionally, his ELLE Korea January 2026 covers-including nine individual versions and a complete set-sold out on Weverse Shop alongside the Rolling Stone Korea magazine featuring him on the cover.
"Jungkook Effect" Continues
These sellouts reinforce what fans call the "Jungkook Effect," referring to his consistent ability to drive product demand across categories. The pattern spans physical albums, merchandise, magazines, and now vinyl editions tied to BTS's highly anticipated comeback.
ARIRANG marks BTS's first group release in nearly four years, following the members' completion of mandatory military service. The album will be promoted through the Arirang World Tour, spanning five continents with 79 shows planned from April 2026 through March 2027.
Each BTS member received their own colored vinyl edition: RM (silver), Jin (pink), SUGA (clear), j-hope (cream), Jimin (burgundy), V (velvet red), and Jungkook (orchid), alongside group versions and deluxe editions.
