Jennie Thanks Fans With New Birthday Party Photos After Turning 30
BLACKPINK's Jennie posted more photos from her 30th birthday celebration on Instagram, expressing gratitude to fans following days of online discussion about her milestone.
The K-pop star shared new party images on January 21 with the caption "THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE BIRTHDAY WISHES." The post featured large silver "30" balloons and festive decorations from her birthday celebration.
Jennie turned 30 on January 16, marking the milestone during BLACKPINK's DEADLINE World Tour in Tokyo. She initially celebrated with a viral Instagram video participating in the "Feeling Good" trend, which garnered millions of likes across social media platforms.
The new photos showed Jennie in a black outfit surrounded by elaborate balloon displays and birthday cakes. Her bandmates Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa each posted birthday tributes, while 55,000 fans at Tokyo Dome sang birthday wishes during the group's concert that evening.
Between her official birthday posts and the new thank-you message, private footage from a Tokyo nightclub celebration circulated online, sparking mixed reactions. Some viewers criticized the party atmosphere and indoor sparklers, while supporters defended her right to celebrate privately as an adult.
Jennie also launched her first photo exhibition "J2NNI5" at Seoul's Youthquake Gallery on her birthday. The exhibition runs through January 29 and features unreleased photographs from when she was 25, shot by Korean photographers Hong Jang Hyun, Shin Sun Hye, and Mok Jung Wook.
BLACKPINK's DEADLINE World Tour concludes January 26 in Hong Kong. The group will release their third mini-album "DEADLINE" on February 27, their first group project since 2022's "Born Pink."
