SEVENTEEN's DK and Seungkwan scored their first No. 1 on YouTube Korea's Trending Music chart with winter ballad "Blue," capping off a successful debut week of promotions.

The emotional duet reached the top spot on January 18 at 9 PM KST, according to Pledis Entertainment. After entering at No. 27 on January 13, the song climbed steadily through the chart before hitting No. 1 five days later.

Two album tracks also made the chart: DK's solo "Rockstar" at No. 28 and "Guilty Pleasure" at No. 30.

Music Shows Fuel Chart Rise

The duo's momentum built through a packed schedule of broadcast appearances. Starting January 15, they performed "Blue" on Mnet's "M Countdown," followed by back-to-back stages on KBS2's "Music Bank" and "The Seasons - 10CM's SSDAM SSDAM" on January 16, MBC's "Show! Music Core" on January 17, and SBS's "Inkigayo" on January 18.

On "The Seasons," they debuted the R&B track "Guilty Pleasure" for the first time, showcasing range beyond the melancholic title track.

Vocal Challenge Goes Viral

Major K-pop vocalists joined the "Blue" vocal challenge, including Davichi, Lee Mujin, Younha, RIIZE's Sohee, and Gummy. Artists from diverse backgrounds like Ha Hyunsang, 10CM, Daybreak, WJSN's Yoo Yeonjung, SOLE, george, and MAMAMOO's Solar added their own interpretations.

The duet challenge format, letting participants harmonize with DK and Seungkwan, spread quickly across social media. "Blue" hit No. 1 on Instagram's Trending Audio chart on January 17.

Strong Album Sales

"Serenade" sold 520,000 copies on its first day, making it one of the rare K-pop unit albums to achieve half-million seller status. The six-track mini album also topped the Worldwide iTunes Album chart.

A vinyl LP edition releases March 16.

The cinematic music video starring actors Lee Yoo-mi and Noh Sanghyun charted on YouTube Korea's Weekly Popular Music Videos for January 9-15. An epilogue version dropped January 19, featuring winter scenes filmed in Hokkaido, Japan.

Released January 12, "Serenade" explores different stages of love through six tracks: title song "Blue," DK's solo "Rockstar," "Guilty Pleasure," "Silence," Seungkwan's solo "Dream Serenade," and "Prelude of Love." Both members contributed to writing and composing their respective solos.
