JYP Entertainment Pursues Legal Action Against Stray Kids Malicious Commenters With No Settlements
JYP Entertainment confirmed investigations are underway against individuals posting defamatory content about Stray Kids, with the agency pledging zero tolerance and no possibility of leniency.
In a December 27 statement, the agency disclosed it has partnered with professional monitoring services to track harmful posts across global platforms. Criminal complaints and civil lawsuits have been filed against perpetrators spreading false information, slander, and mockery targeting the eight-member group.
Law enforcement has obtained warrants to identify defendants, with domestic and international courts cooperating to verify identities of those operating on overseas platforms. JYP emphasized its commitment to ensuring strict legal punishment for all offenders.
"There will be no leniency or settlements at any stage of this process," the company stated, signaling an uncompromising stance on protecting its artists from online harassment.
The agency collects evidence in real-time from domestic and international online communities and social media. Fans possessing evidence of illegal activities can submit materials to fan@jype.com to support ongoing proceedings.
JYP thanked STAY, Stray Kids' fandom, for continued support and reiterated that artist protection remains its highest priority.
The legal measures come as Stray Kids maintains momentum following their December 13 release "HOP," which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The group recently made history as the first act to debut eight consecutive albums at the chart's top position, surpassing all groups in the 21st century for most Billboard 200 number-one albums.
