BTS members Jimin and Jin secured multiple placements on Billboard Japan's 2025 year-end charts, demonstrating sustained commercial performance during the group's hiatus as they prepare for their spring 2026 reunion.

Billboard Japan Year-End Chart Performance

According to Billboard Japan's 2025 annual charts released December 5, tracking November 25, 2024 through November 23, 2025, Jimin's "Who" from his second solo album MUSE ranked No. 73 on the Japan Hot 100 chart. The achievement makes Jimin the only Korean male solo artist to appear on this year-end chart.

"Who" also placed at No. 61 on the Streaming Songs chart, while MUSE reached No. 76 on Streaming Albums and No. 87 on Hot Albums. The track initially debuted at No. 1 on both Billboard's Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts in July 2024.

Jin appeared at No. 58 on the Artist 100 chart, with Jimin following at No. 93. Jin's second solo album Echo achieved No. 24 on Download Albums and No. 41 on Top Album Sales. Released May 16, 2025, Echo debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, marking Jin's highest-charting solo project to date.

Spotify's 2025 Wrapped Results

BTS maintained their position as the most-streamed K-pop act globally on Spotify's 2025 Wrapped year-end summary. The group ranked No. 4 as "Top Group of the Year" and No. 18 as "Top Artist of the Year" on Spotify Japan specifically.

In Spotify Japan's "Top Tracks of the Year," Jimin's "Who" placed at No. 10, while Jin's "Don't Say You Love Me" reached No. 19. Jungkook's "Seven (feat. Latto)" ranked No. 65, and V's collaboration with Park Hyo Shin, "Winter Ahead," came in at No. 68. The V and Park Hyo Shin duet also ranked No. 46 on the "Most Shared Track" list for social media sharing.

For albums, Jimin's MUSE placed No. 13, Jin's Echo No. 27, and Jungkook's GOLDEN No. 30 on Spotify Japan's "Top Albums of the Year."

J-Hope's Festival Recognition

The 2025 Lollapalooza Berlin Wrapped recap, released December 4, recognized j-hope's "MIC Drop" performance as the "Performance that Created the Biggest Roar of the Year" (Loudest Crowd). Festival organizers noted that "the audience's enthusiastic cheers pushed the decibel level beyond limits."

J-hope headlined Lollapalooza Berlin on July 13, 2025, performing a 90-minute set for approximately 60,000 fans at the Olympiastadion. His setlist included 21 songs mixing solo material with BTS hits including "MIC Drop," "Dynamite," and "Butter."

Group Comeback Plans

BTS officially announced plans for a spring 2026 comeback during a July 1, 2025 Weverse livestream, their first group broadcast since September 2022. All seven members completed their mandatory South Korean military service by June 2025, with final discharges including RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook.

"We'll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year," the group stated. "Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member's thoughts and ideas."

The spring 2026 release will mark BTS's first group studio album since BE in 2020, excluding their 2022 anthology Proof. A world tour is planned to accompany the album release, their first global trek since the Permission to Dance On Stage tour concluded in 2022.

Market Context

K-pop's presence on global year-end charts continues expanding. On Billboard Japan's 2025 year-end Hot 100, ROSÉ and Bruno Mars' "APT." ranked No. 3, while aespa's "Whiplash" placed at No. 30. The Netflix anime K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack secured the No. 2 spot on Spotify's Global Top Albums of 2025.

BTS's sustained chart performance during their hiatus demonstrates the group's established fanbase loyalty. Individual members pursued solo releases and tours throughout 2024-2025, with each member contributing to the K-pop genre's global streaming numbers, which totaled over 181 billion minutes on Spotify in 2025.

The group's 2026 reunion timing positions them to capitalize on momentum built during solo activities while delivering on fan expectations for new group material following nearly six years without a full studio album release.
