Studio Choom's latest collaboration with Mnet's "Unpretty Rapstar: HIP POP Princess" proves digital platforms can create breakout moments even when traditional television struggles. The channel released Team A's "DAISY" performance on November 17, drawing strong viewer response.

Winning Performance Showcases Self-Production Skills

Team A's "DAISY (Prod. Gaeko)" earned the highest score in the show's Main Producer New Track Mission. The five-member group-Niko, Kim Doyi, Lee Jooeun, Han Heeyeon, and Shin Yookyung-wrote their own rap lyrics and choreographed the performance, incorporating personal experiences with career setbacks into the track.

Producer Gaeko of Dynamic Duo created the instrumental, using metaphors of soil, rain, wind, and sunlight to represent life's challenges. The performance opens with flower-shaped formations before building into what judges called "debut-ready" stage work.

Studio Choom's Signature High-Quality Production

Studio Choom captured the full choreography in its trademark style: white backgrounds, colored lighting, and dynamic camerawork that emphasizes movement. The 5.86 million-subscriber channel specializes in dance-focused K-pop content, offering perspectives unavailable in standard broadcast footage.

Fans praised seeing choreography details invisible during the televised version. Comments urged contestants to "debut together" and called both the lyrics and dance work "genius-level."

Korea-Japan Joint Project Targets Self-Producing Artists

"Unpretty Rapstar: HIP POP Princess" premiered October 16, 2025, airing Thursdays at 9:50 PM KST on Mnet and U-NEXT in Japan. The show features 40 contestants-20 Korean and 20 Japanese-competing to form a hip-hop girl group.

Main producers include (G)I-DLE's Soyeon (also serving as MC), Dynamic Duo's Gaeko, choreographer Riehata, and dancer-actor Takanori Iwata. Unlike previous "Unpretty Rapstar" seasons focused on individual rappers, this version emphasizes group creation with contestants handling all production aspects: music composition, choreography, styling, and video creation.

Digital Success vs. Broadcast Metrics

The show reportedly draws low television ratings while generating strong digital engagement. This pattern reflects broader shifts in entertainment consumption, particularly among younger audiences who prefer streaming platforms and social media over linear television.

Studio Choom's involvement demonstrates how strategic digital partnerships extend reach beyond traditional broadcast. The channel's high-production dance videos have become essential stops for K-pop releases, accumulating over 4.3 billion total views since launching in 2019.

The "DAISY" release shows survival show content can find substantial audiences through digital channels even when television numbers disappoint, highlighting evolving strategies for reaching global K-pop fans.
