Jimin's "Who" Becomes First K-Pop Song to Top Spotify Charts in Seven Countries
BTS member Jimin has shattered yet another streaming barrier. His solo track "Who" now holds the top position as the most-streamed song of all time on Spotify in seven countries-a first for any K-pop artist.
The song dominates in South Korea, Bulgaria, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Venezuela, Singapore, and Latvia. No other Korean artist, solo or group, has achieved this level of multi-territory chart supremacy on the platform.
Record-Breaking Numbers in South Korea
In his home country, "Who" commands over 83 million filtered streams on Spotify's Korean chart. The track became the most-played song among all South Korean users throughout 2024, according to Spotify's year-end Wrapped campaign.
Jimin stands alone on Korea's chart with another milestone: he's the only artist with two songs surpassing 50 million streams. His 2023 hit "Like Crazy" crossed that threshold in August 2024, joining "Who" in the 50-million club.
Global Milestone: 2 Billion Streams
On September 18, 2025-just 427 days after its July 19, 2024 release-"Who" hit 2 billion filtered streams on Spotify's global chart. This makes it the first solo song by an Asian artist to reach this mark and the second-fastest male solo track ever, trailing only Harry Styles' "As It Was."
The achievement came despite Spotify removing over 175 million streams during a platform-wide purge targeting fraudulent activity. Even with that massive deduction, the song powered through to the milestone.
Dominating the American Market
With over 386 million filtered streams, "Who" ranks as the most-streamed K-pop song in U.S. Spotify history. It's also the first and only K-pop track to break into the top 100 most-streamed songs of all time on the U.S. chart.
On the Billboard Hot 100, the song debuted at number 14, peaked at 12, and spent 33 weeks on the chart-setting the longevity record for K-pop solo tracks. The performance is remarkable considering Jimin was serving mandatory military duty when the song dropped and couldn't promote it.
International Reach
"Who" crossed 100 million streams in Brazil, Japan, and Thailand. In Chile, it reached 98 million streams, making Jimin the only Asian artist to hit these numbers in those markets.
The track debuted at number one on both the Billboard Global 200 (with 90.5 million streams and 129,000 sales in week one) and the Global Excl. U.S. chart. It peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart, Jimin's highest solo charting there.
Awards and Cultural Impact
The song won K-Pop Song of the Year at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Its cultural footprint extended beyond music-Italian football club Napoli played it during a Serie A match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in February.
Jimin completed his military service on June 11, 2025. With BTS preparing for their group comeback in spring 2026, his solo streaming records have set a new standard for K-pop artists competing in the global market.
