izna Members Share "Mamma Mia" Music Video Filming Challenges and One-Take Technique
K-pop girl group izna has opened up about the demanding production process behind their latest music video "Mamma Mia," revealing how innovative filming techniques pushed them beyond their comfort zones.
Teddy Park-Produced Track Champions Gen Z Confidence
Released September 30, 2025, as the title track from their second mini-album Not Just Pretty, the song carries a defiant message about self-acceptance. Produced by BLACKPINK hitmaker Teddy Park, the track encourages listeners to trust their instincts despite societal pressure and criticism.
The six-member group-Mai, Bang Jeemin, Koko, Ryu Sarang, Choi Jungeun, and Jeong Saebi-formed through Mnet's survival show I-Land 2: N/a and debuted in November 2024 under WAKEONE Entertainment.
One-Take Filming Method Creates Technical Challenges
The production team employed extensive one-take sequences, a filming approach new to the members. Ryu Sarang described the experience as both exciting and nerve-wracking, explaining that everyone needed to execute their choreography flawlessly without room for error. The members spent considerable time rehearsing movement patterns to ensure seamless transitions.
Jeong Saebi admitted feeling extremely anxious before cameras rolled, but found the process rewarding once filming began. The youngest member noted that successfully completing long takes alongside her teammates created a strong sense of achievement.
Individual Moments Stand Out in Group Production
Bang Jeemin, who opens the video with a striking solo shot, recalled filming alone as particularly memorable. Without the support of other members nearby, she felt increased responsibility to deliver each frame perfectly.
During the final dance break sequence, Choi Jungeun drew energy from performing alongside professional dancers. Mai similarly credited the production crew's enthusiasm for helping her maintain stamina throughout the lengthy shoot.
Koko shared that watching playback of the dance break left her emotionally moved by the visual impact of the choreography.
Album Achieves Commercial Success
Not Just Pretty sold approximately 150,000 copies on its first day, marking a new personal record for izna. The five-track mini-album includes "Supercrush," "Racecar," "In the Rain," and "SIGN (Remix)" alongside the title track.
The album's concept challenges single-dimensional perceptions, showcasing the group's range across multiple musical styles. According to their label, the project represents izna's artistic evolution and refusal to be confined by one image.
The group continues promotional activities across music shows and variety programs, connecting with their growing international fanbase.
