BABYMONSTER Releases Second Mini Album 'WE GO UP' with Hip-Hop Title Track

YG Entertainment's seven-member girl group BABYMONSTER dropped their second mini album 'WE GO UP' on October 10 at 1 PM KST, continuing their rapid-fire release schedule just 18 months after debut.
The comeback arrives three months after their July digital single "Hot Sauce" and follows their first mini album 'BABYMONS7ER' and debut full-length album 'DRIP'. The group promoted as six members, as Rami remains on hiatus due to ongoing health concerns since May 2025.
Hip-Hop Energy Defines Title Track
The album's lead single "We Go Up" delivers intense hip-hop production built around powerful brass instrumentation. The track showcases the group's signature aggressive rap style alongside their declaration to become industry game-changers.
Member Ahyeon explained the album's significance through YG Entertainment: "This album expresses what each of us wants to achieve as artists. Just like the title, it represents our will to reach higher with our own color."
The choreography highlights their world tour experience, featuring stylish gestures that emphasize the group's confident swagger. Rora noted they "worked hard to show a side of us that fans haven't seen before."
Four-Track EP Showcases Range
Beyond the title track, the mini album includes three additional songs spanning multiple genres:
"PSYCHO" was nearly selected as the title track and fuses hip-hop, dance, and rock elements with addictive melodies.
"SUPA DUPA LUV" takes a mature approach to romantic themes through R&B hip-hop stylings and smooth vocal performances.
"WILD" marks the group's first country-pop experiment, combining bright guitar riffs with polished beats.
Tour Success Fuels Momentum
BABYMONSTER's "HELLO MONSTERS" world tour drew 300,000 fans across 32 shows in 20 cities between January and September 2025. The tour began at Seoul's KSPO Dome and expanded throughout Asia and North America.
"I realized how music connects us beyond language and culture," member Ruka reflected on the tour. "The cheers and love from every country gave us so much strength."
The group also achieved a major digital milestone in September 2025, becoming the fastest K-pop girl group to reach 10 million YouTube subscribers just 17 months after their April 2024 debut.
Promotional Plans
BABYMONSTER will promote 'WE GO UP' across music shows, YouTube content, and radio programs throughout the remainder of 2025. When asked how they want to be perceived, the members agreed: "Artists who truly enjoy what they do."
The group continues building on their reputation for consistent releases and strong live performances as they enter their second year since debut.
