Boy group BAE173's upcoming first full album has been hit by an unauthorized music leak, with unreleased tracks appearing on social media just weeks before their planned comeback.

What Happened

Unreleased songs from BAE173's debut full-length album surfaced illegally on social media platforms on September 23, 2024. The leaked tracks had not been officially released by the group or their agency.

Fans quickly spotted the unauthorized content spreading online, prompting swift action from the eight-member group's management team.

Agency Response

Pocketdol Studio confirmed the leak incident in a statement to Dispatch on September 24, saying they are "thoroughly reviewing all processes and will implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future".

The company emphasized they're taking comprehensive steps to prevent further unauthorized distribution and minimize additional damage from the breach.

Comeback Still On Track

Despite the setback, BAE173 will proceed with their October 23 comeback as planned, releasing their first full-length album. This marks their first complete album since debuting in November 2020.

The release comes approximately 18 months after their fifth mini-album 'NEW CHAPTER: LUCEAT' dropped in March 2024.

Tour Plans Continue

The group will kick off their Japan tour on November 4, with shows scheduled across Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and other major cities, giving fans additional opportunities to hear the new music live.

About BAE173

BAE173 currently operates as an eight-member group under Pocketdol Studio, after original member Dohyon left in June 2023 following a contract dispute.

The group gained recognition through their appearance on JTBC's survival show "Peak Time" in 2023, where they finished fifth place and showcased their performance abilities to a wider audience.

Music leaks have become an ongoing challenge for K-pop agencies, highlighting the need for stronger security measures during album production and distribution phases.
