What's confirmed: Gaga and Polansky are parents. What isn't: the baby's sex, name and exact date of birth remain undisclosed, and the couple hasn't said whether the child arrived by birth or another route. That's consistent with how the two have handled nearly every major relationship milestone since they went public in February 2020 - quietly, and usually well after the fact.
The engagement followed the same pattern. Polansky proposed on April 1, 2024, during a rock-climbing trip, using a ring made from a blade of grass before following up with a formal oval-cut diamond. Gaga didn't confirm any of it until months later, introducing Polansky as her "fiancé" almost by accident during a conversation with then-French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony on July 28, 2024, where she'd just performed. She filled in the rest of the story piecemeal over the following year - telling Jimmy Kimmel that October how Polansky had asked her permission to propose before he did it, and telling Howard Stern in March 2025 that she still wears both the grass ring and the diamond one.
Motherhood is something Gaga had talked about wanting well before Friday's photos surfaced. Asked what she hoped to do next during a 2025 appearance on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," she said plainly: "What I really want is to be a mom. That's my next starring role, I hope." She's 40. Polansky, a tech entrepreneur and executive director of the Parker Foundation, turns 43 later this month.
Gaga's public life hasn't slowed down around any of this. She headlined the Grammys and appeared at February's Super Bowl halftime show alongside Bad Bunny, ring visible each time, without ever addressing what the ring was for on the record. If the pattern holds, a wedding date will surface the same way the engagement did and the birth did - confirmed by someone else first, acknowledged by Gaga only once it's already out.
