i-dle's "Nxde" Just Became Their Second Music Video to Hit 400 Million Views

i-dle's music video for "Nxde" surpassed 400 million views on YouTube shortly after 11:20 p.m. KST on August 4, making it the group's second video to cross that mark after "Queencard." "Nxde" reached the milestone three years, nine months and 18 days after its October 17, 2022 release - considerably slower than "Queencard," which hit 400 million in just over two years and one month.
The gap in speed doesn't reflect a gap in impact. "Nxde" made its own kind of history when it first came out: the track landed on San Francisco radio station KMVQ-FM within a day of release, marking the first time a Korean-language song by a K-pop girl group had aired on American radio. It went on to peak at No. 40 on Billboard's Pop Airplay chart, and became the first song by an act on an independent label to chart there without an English translation. Written and composed by member Soyeon, the song built its identity around reclaiming the word "nude" as a statement about how women are perceived rather than how they're dressed - a concept that generated its own conversation separate from the song's chart performance.
i-dle now has two videos past the 400-million mark and a broader catalog with real depth behind them: "TOMBOY" and "Nxde" have both cleared 300 million, while "LATATA" and "Oh My God" have passed 200 million. Nine of the group's videos have crossed 100 million views total, and "Nxde" was itself the fastest of those nine to get there, hitting 100 million in just 17 days - a record for a fourth-generation K-pop group at the time. The group's most recent album, "We Are," sold more than 1.06 million copies in its first week last year, giving i-dle a fourth consecutive "million-seller" title and the highest first-week sales total for a K-pop girl group album that year.
"Nxde" took nearly four years to get here. "Queencard" did it in half that time. Whichever video crosses 500 million first will say something about which era of the group ages better with international audiences - and neither has an obvious lead yet.
