The title is not accidental.

Tomorrow X Together released their eighth mini-album, 7th Year: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns, on April 13. According to Hanteo Chart, it sold 1,357,029 copies on its first day - the group's highest single-day total. Every TXT album since minisode 2: Thursday's Child in 2022 has crossed one million in first-week sales. 7th Year is the seventh in that run.

The album name does two things at once. It marks where TXT is - the group debuted March 4, 2019, making this their seventh year together. It also names the pressure point that has defined their rollout. The seven-year mark in K-pop is when initial contracts expire. It is the point at which TVXQ split in 2009, when EXO lost members in 2014 and 2015, when groups fracture or dissolve entirely. TXT announced in August 2025 that all five members - Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai - had renewed with Big Hit Music. The album is the first release since that renewal.

At a media showcase on April 13, Soobin said the album "feels different, coming back after knowing we're staying." The title track "Stick With You" debuted at No. 34 on Melon's Top 100 on release day and climbed to No. 18 by April 14. The six-track EP also entered at No. 1 on the Hanteo weekly chart and topped iTunes album charts in multiple markets on day one, according to Big Hit Music.

The concept the group built around the album - thorn imagery, high-contrast black-and-white visuals, a trailer featuring members reciting Korean folk poetry - leaned into discomfort rather than away from it. The closing remark from their MOA CON anniversary concert in March, where the comeback was first announced, captured the framing directly: "The team is so precious. We want to keep it together and protect what we've built."

TXT's The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in February 2023 - their first chart-topper and, at the time, the largest US sales week for any album since Taylor Swift's Midnights. The two most recent releases, The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY and The Star Chapter: TOGETHER, debuted at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Billboard chart data for 7th Year will be available when the April 26 chart is published.

The group's next confirmed dates are a Japan fan meeting run at Tokyo Dome and Kyocera Dome in May, followed by a Korea meetup in Incheon in June.
