BTS, EXO, and Wanna One Comebacks Confirmed for 2026: Release Dates and What Fans Can Expect
K-pop's biggest third-generation acts are all returning in 2026. BTS drops their first album in nearly four years this March, EXO just released their eighth studio album, and Wanna One reunites for a new reality show.
BTS Returns March 20 After Military Service
BTS confirmed their comeback on January 1 through handwritten letters delivered to longtime ARMY members. The group will release their first full album since June 2022's "Proof" on March 20, followed by a world tour.
Each member shared personal messages in the letters. "I've waited more eagerly than anyone," RM wrote, while Jimin noted, "The year we meet has arrived." V promised fans, "We'll make even more and better memories together."
The March comeback marks nearly four years since their last group release. All seven members completed South Korea's mandatory military service during the hiatus while pursuing solo projects.
EXO's "REVERXE" Album Dropped January 19
EXO returned on January 19 with their eighth album "REVERXE," their first release since July 2023's "EXIST." Six members participate in this comeback: Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, and Lay.
The group held a comeback showcase at Kyung Hee University's Peace Hall following the 6 p.m. album release. They previewed their return at December's Melon Music Awards with performances of new track "Back It Up" alongside hits like "Monster" and "Love Shot."
Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin aren't participating due to ongoing discussions with SM Entertainment.
Wanna One Reality Show Coming First Half 2026
Mnet announced January 2 that Wanna One will reunite for a reality program airing in the first half of 2026. The 11-member group last promoted together in 2019.
"The members agreed on producing a reality program, which Wannables loved most," an Mnet representative said. A teaser video featured their cassette tape logo and lyrics from "Spring Breeze," ending with "We GO Again."
The group-Kang Daniel, Park Ji-hoon, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Lai Kuanlin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young, and Ha Sung-woon-previously reunited at the 2021 MAMA Awards.
