K-Pop Group UNIS Teams Up with KORESAWA for Japanese Single "mwah…"
Girl group UNIS will release their second Japanese digital single "mwah... (幸せになんかならないでね)" on December 17, 2025, marking another collaboration with a prominent Japanese artist.
The group unveiled teasers on December 9 through social media, featuring playful imagery with teddy bear clocks and megaphones. Concept photos released the following day show the eight members styled in pink, white, and denim, striking poses that hint at the track's signature hand-kiss choreography.
Japanese Singer-Songwriter Handles Production
Singer-songwriter KORESAWA wrote and composed "mwah...," which translates to "I Hope You Never Become Happy." The track explores playful jealousy through lyrics about not wanting a love interest to be happy with anyone else.
KORESAWA, known for maintaining anonymity behind her bear mascot character "Reko-chan," has built a following in both Japan and Korea. Her 2024 hit "Dear Ex-Girlfriends" (元彼女のみなさまへ) showcases her trademark approach to relationship themes with wit and emotional honesty.
Choreographer Hana from dance crew Osaka Ojo Gang created the performance. Hana, whose crew won Mnet's World of Street Woman Fighter in July 2025, is also the older sister of TWICE member Momo.
Expanding Japanese Market Strategy
This release follows UNIS's September debut in Japan with "Moshi Moshi♡," produced by HoneyWorks' shito. The group also collaborated with singer-songwriter noa on "Shaking My Head" in July 2025, which featured members Gehlee, Kotoko, and Seowon.
UNIS consists of eight members: Hyeonju, Nana, Gehlee, Kotoko, Yunha, Elisia, Yoona, and Seowon. The group formed through SBS's Universe Ticket survival show and debuted in March 2024 under F&F Entertainment with a 2.5-year contract ending in September 2026.
Their discography includes debut EP "We UNIS" and second mini-album "SWICY," released April 15, 2025. The title track "SWICY" earned them their first music show win on MBC M's Show Champion on April 23, 2025.
"mwah..." drops at midnight KST on December 17, 2025, across major streaming platforms.
