Madonna And Sean Penn Reunion Confirmed; Actor Tells Singer 'I Love You?'
It seems like flame between Madonna and Sean Penn has never died as the two had a brief reunion on Saturday.
The 57-year-old "Like a Virgin" singer joined her ex-husband at a pre-Goldern Globes benefit gala. The said event aims to raise funds for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization and was held in Beverly Hills on Saturday, Jan. 9. And when the two met, they didn't mind their adoration for one another at all. In addition, the pop star brought her children along, namely David Banda and Mercy James, to the event. An eyewitness told US Weekly that 55-year-old actor escorted his former beau into the building.
Later that night, while Sean Penn was about to close out his speech about the essence of raising awareness to give aid to those who are in Haiti, he called Madonna to the stage to have a little sweet reunion.
"So I'm going to do something for the second time tonight to show my humility, if, when we get to the auction part, you show me yours," Penn said. "I'm going to get on one knee and I'm going to look at a ukulele and I'm going to say to an Italian chick from Michigan - will ya?"
Madonna, in turn, took to the stage and gave thanks for the gathered guests for being there and made and announced that she loves Penn. "I want to say Sean that I love you, from the moment I laid eyes on you," she said, according to TMZ and noted by New York Daily News. "And I still love you just the same."
Sean Penn and Madonna were married in 1985 but cut their relationship off after four years though both still have reunions and remained friends ever since.
