Spice Girls Tour 2016 Cancelled? Mel B Interview Surface; Says No Plans Yet Have Been Laid Out!
The rumored Spice Girls reunion tour this 2016 just might get cancelled, according to fans. OK! Magazine reported how one of its members, "Sporty Spice" Mel B, admitted that no definite plans have been laid out yet.
In an interview with UK show "This Morning," the singer was prodded about the hit girl group reuniting for their 20th year anniversary.
"Nothing has been announced, discussions have kind of just..." she said before trailing off.
Mel B said she hopes the rumors about the series of concerts for this year will push through.
"I would love it," she said. "I think it would be a shame not to do something."
"Hopefully something will happen, watch this space," she added.
In another interview reported by Express UK, Mel B said that people are already working out details of the concert series.
"To be serious, it is our twentieth anniversary this year and it would be rude not to celebrate," she pointed out. "Hopefully something will be happening pretty soon."
Some also speculated that the Spice Girls tour this 2016 might not push though because Victoria Beckham does not want to participate.
"Sporty Spice" Melanie Chisholm previously explained to The Sun that their former groupmate is now more focused on her family, four children, and fashion businesses.
"Victoria has said she doesn't want to perform again, which is understandable," Mel C said about the wife of football star David Beckham. "She fully supports the four of us because we might want to have another go. It's very amicable."
Just recently, Mel C admitted in a new interview with The Sun that she just might back out if "Posh Spice" does not join the tour.
"Mel believes the band has to be the original five-piece and Victoria needs to be involved," an insider explained. "This means good management, good tour promoters and good sponsorship to maximize revenue."
No official statement has been released yet as to whether or not the rumored Spice Girls tour for 2016 is cancelled or is pushing through.
