'Batman V Superman' Director Says Fans Will See The Entire Justice League 'Standing Together'
Fans of the DC Extended Universe are in for a treat as director Zack Snyder confirms that "Batman V Superman" will include all of the Justice League's members.
Two of this year's upcoming comic book based films will come from DC: The "Suicide Squad," which aims to introduce audiences to the dark side of DC, and before that, "Batman V Superman," which will lay the groundwork for the upcoming "Justice League" installments.
"Batman V Superman" will see the much-awaited battle between the caped crusader and the Man of Steel. At the same time, it will also introduce villains Lex Luthor and Doomsday, forcing the two title heroes to put aside their differences and work together. Apparently, their combined efforts won't be enough to beat the new villains, so Snyder decided to bring in some help.
Speaking with USA Today, "Batman V Superman" director Zack Snyder confirmed that the Justice League emerge in the upcoming film.
"I love Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman, but having Flash and Aquaman and Cyborg and to see them all standing together, it's a pretty dorky and cool experience for me," Snyder admitted. "Basically every one of those characters has a logo that you would recognize without them standing there, and that's a hard thing to achieve in this pop-culture world. We have history to draw on, but we also have these new frontiers to forge."
Snyder also elaborated on Affleck's Batman, which he claims will be different from how the caped crusader was portrayed in previous films.
"You can see the idea of the innocent being victimized by whatever they are, aliens, he doesn't know - that's the thing that really boils his blood, as you can imagine it would," Snyder explained. "Suddenly the innocent children of the world are all of us."
Apart from the title heroes, the confirmed Justice League members appearing in "Batman V Superman" include Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and The Flash (Ezra Miller).
"Batman V Superman" opens on March 25, followed by "Suicide Squad" on Aug. 5.
