2016 Detroit Auto Show News: Luxury Cars Grace Opening Night
The opening night of the 2016 Detroit Auto Show will highlight some of the best cars in the luxury market. The auto show will become a runway for the top brands' latest model which include creations from Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Falcon, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce and Porsche.
Reports claim that the exclusive six-hour event will host around 500 people.
Tickets to the opening night of the 2016 Detroit Auto Show costs about $500 each, all proceeds of which will be donated to the Detroit Auto Dealers Association's Charitable Foundation Fund.
Accordingly, a car must cost at least $100,000 to be added into the show's luxurious lineup. The amount is but the minimum as cars displayed on the show can rack up hefty price tags amounting to several millions each.
During the 2015 Detroit Auto Show opening night event, the association behind the activity was able to sell $3 million worth of vehicles. Aside from being an auto show, the event's organizer claims that people come with the prime intention of buying at least one car.
In a statement acquired by the Detroit Free Press, Grosse Ile resident Ed Jolliffe said, "This is the ultimate in styling and excess. Everything in this room is completely out of this world."
According to Auto News, United States President Barrack Obama is scheduled to attend the event on Jan. 20.
Aside from cars, the 2016 Detroit Auto Show is also known for its silent auctions where various interesting, rare and valuable merchandises are being sold.
In this year's silent auction, a Cleveland Cavaliers package is up for grabs for $10,000.
The package includes courtside seats to Cavaliers' games, an exclusive dinner in the owner's suit, an exclusive basketball jersey autographed by Cavaliers franchise player LeBron James and winners will stay at the Ritz-Carlton hotel.
The opening bid for the package is at $4,000.
