Japanese car manufacturer Toyota will unveil its newest ViRA concept car at the Tokyo Auto Salon. The car model is a sporty crossover, which name is a combination of Vitz, the Japanese name of the Toyota Yaris, and RAV4.

Experts described the Toyota ViRA as a coupe which combines the practicality of an SUV and the higher ride height which is very common in crossover models. It is a two-door car that sports a sloping roofline and several gorgeous looking curves.

ViRA's dynamic shape and curves was designed in order to appeal to a much younger market.

According to Carscoops, ViRA appears to be miles apart when compared to other Toyota cars. The concept crossover car sports edgy fascia which is reminiscent of obscure and generic supercars.

Through closer inspection, one can notice some design cues taken from Zenvo, as well as the Guigiaro Ferrari FF prototype. In terms of design, the Toyota ViRA has more traits in common with the two previously mentioned cars rather than its close predecessors, the RAV4 and the Vitz

Based on the officially released renders, the concept car is closer to the size of Mazda CX-3 compact crossover. Details about the car's drivetrain were not disclosed but there are rumors claiming that Toyota is planning to release a turbocharged version of ViRA.

The Toyota Industries Corporation(TIC) is responsible for manufacturing ViRA. The same group is behind the construction of the RAV4 and other Toyota branded engines, industrial vehicles and automotive air conditioning compressors. The TIC is also responsible for building Toyota Yaris. The corporation was established in 1926 and is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, according to Left Lane News.

The Toyota ViRA concept car will debut at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon, which will open its doors on Jan. 15.

Since the car is still in its early conceptual stage, Toyota has yet to confirm when the car will hit the market.
