Golden State Warriors News: Blazers' Terry Stotts Claims Stephen Curry's Roster Can Beat Chicago Bulls' 72-10 Record

Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts predicted that the Golden State Warriors can break the Chicago Bulls' 72-10 record.

The Golden State Warriors dominated the Trail Blazers at their hometown at the Moda Center on Friday. When it ended, it was Golden State 128, Portland 108, as the Warriors increased their record (34-2) and the Blazers lost their third game in a row (15-24).

"It was pretty obvious Golden State is a pretty good basketball team," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said in a statement published by Oregon Live. "Klay Thompson put on a show in the first quarter. Every time we tired to mount any kind of comeback, they were so potent that a 12-point lead can go to 20 pretty quickly."

"They showed why they have the record they have."

The Warriors dominated the first quarter with a 19-point lead from guard Klay Thopmson and ended the first half with 38 points, rendering guard Damian Lillard's 40-point, 10-assist effort futile.

Current MVP Steph Curry, who made 13 points in the first half, ended with 26 points and nine assists, while forward Draymond Green made his league-best eight triple-double with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.

The Warriors ended the game shooting 53 percent (46 of 87) from the floor, 56 percent (18 of 32) from behind the line and recorded a total of 36 assists.

"Obviously, they're on pace to have the best record ever and I think they'll get it," Stotts added. "They know how to play, they know their formula for success and they execute it very well."

According to CBS Sports, it's understandable for Stotts to make such statements as the Golden State Warriors have the best start in NBA history in a regular season. As it stands, they are are already well on their way to break the Bulls' record. However, they shouldn't run the risk of tiring themselves out given that the playoffs, which should be their first priority, is only months away.
