Derrick Rose 'In A Good Place' With Chicago Bulls Despite Trade Rumors With The New York Knicks
Latest rumors suggest that Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose will end up being traded to the New York Knicks.
The Bulls have been with Rose through thick and thin and made him the team's star after his draft in 2008. They patiently stood by him after the devastating knee injury he sustained in 2012, even when his return passed expected dates. However, there's only little the Bulls can do as their prized player is set to be a free agent in 2017.
Last year, Rose made some interesting comments about how he's already looking ahead to that day.
"But when you talk about that much money the only thing you can do is prepare for it. I'm trying to prepare, not only myself, but my family," Rose said in a statement published by Hoops Habit. "And I'm doing this all for my son. Like I said, I'm thinking about his future. Even though we're alright, we're comfortable, when you talk about that x-amount of dollars, I think it raises everyone's eyebrows, so there's nothing wrong with being over-prepared."
Yibada explained that Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose could be a wise addition to the New York Knicks' current roster.
"The Knicks has been in a disarray for couple of years now, and even with the arrival of Phil Jackson in the franchise, New York is still struggling to give Carmelo Anthony his first NBA championship," reads an excerpt of the report. "Rose could give the Knicks the much-needed boost in the point guard position. New York has been without a reliable point guard and Rose could certainly be a franchise cornerstone, along with Anthony."
Despite the rumors, Rose said that he's in a "good place" with his current team.
"I've been in a good place," Rose said in a statement published by Chicago Tribune. "Even when I wasn't playing well, I've always been in a good place. It's a process."
While Derrick Rose's time with the Chicago Bulls remains indefinite and his trade to the Knicks has yet to be officially announced, it's understandable that he's already securing his own financial interests.
