NBA Trade Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers Center Attracting Interest From Several Teams
The Cleveland Cavaliers are obviously gunning for the championship so it might be hard for them to let go of Timofey Mozgov who is involved in fresh NBA trade rumors. Yahoo! Sports revealed that several teams are inquiring about the 7'1 center from Russia who joined Cavs last year.
"As center Timofey Mozgov recently has gone from a prominent starting role to a reserve with the Cleveland Cavaliers, several NBA teams are starting to inquire about his availability via trade," Yahoo wrote.
The Cavs reportedly made it known that it wants to keep its core intact. However, the last decision might not be in their hands, especially with the way Mozgov has gone down from the pecking order. The 29-year is set to become an unrestricted free agent by summer and teams are expected to give him lucrative offer.
"While the Cavaliers have expressed no interest in moving Mozgov, the 7-foot-1 center's loss of his starting job, the franchise's NBA-high payroll and his looming free agency could ultimately persuade Cleveland to make a deal,: the publication further wrote. "The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 18."
Mozgov is the first ever Russian player to play in an NBA finals. He joined Cavs in January last year and earned and extension by June 23. In his first year with the Lebron James-squad, he averaged 10.6 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per outing.
Cleveland Cavaliers has been involved in several NBA trade rumors despite their team doing good in the Eastern Conference. However, pundits think the team is not yet complete, especially after their loss to NBA finals tormentor Golden State Warriors during Christmas Day showdown.
Recent NBA trade rumors suggested that they want to sign Markieff Morris from Phoenix Suns in hopes to fill in the power forward void.
Another wild NBA trade rumor from Yibada, citing Sports Illustrated The Cauldron as the source, claimed the Cavs want to sign Chris Bosh in exchange for Kevin Love.
