'Sailor Moon Crystal' Season 3 Release Date Confirmed Alongside Art Feat. Sailor Uranus And Sailor Neptune [PHOTO]
After a false start, a confusing report, and an official confirmation, the "Sailor Moon Crystal" season three release date has finally been confirmed.
Unfortunately, fans will still have a few months to wait for the premiere.
According to reports, the "Sailor Moon Crystal" season three release date is now set for Spring 2016. Alongside the confirmation of the release date, official art that offers a first look at highly anticipated outer sailor scouts Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Pluto was also revealed. Fans can check out the art below.
"Sailor Moon Crystal" season three will mark a change in directors, with Chiaki Kon taking over for Munehisa Sakai. So far, fans appear to be welcoming the change, but are still still disappointed that the main writer Yuji Kobayashi will continue to handle the series scripts.
"Not going to lie, I was really hoping for a change in writers. A new director however does seem semi-promising," said Whiskeyii in an ANN forum.
"Sailor Moon Crystal" season three will adapt the "Death Busters" story arc from the original manga series by Naoko Takeuchi. The third story arc marks the appearance of all 10 sailor scouts, specifically outer scouts Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Pluto, and Sailor Saturn.
For those that need to catch up on the first two seasons of "Sailor Moon Crystal," all of the episodes are streaming on Crunchyroll, Niconico, and Hulu. Viz Media also licensed the series for home video release in North America. Viz Media also has planned a "Sailor Moon Crystal" English dub.
"Sailor Moon Crystal" is a reboot of the original anime adaptation of the "Sailor Moon" manga series by Naoko Takeuchi. The series was announced as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the initial series launch.
