'Homefront: The Revolution' Release Date Set For Spring 2016; Target Leaks Debunked
"Homefront: The Revolution" might be arriving earlier than expected, if the rumored release date turns out to be true.
According to a leaked reservation card from Target, "Homefront: The Revolution" is arriving in fourth months. The photo spotted at Xbox Achievements reveals the alleged release date of May 17. And as a pre-order bonus, the reservation card comes with a $5 gift card.
Game developers declined to confirm the leaked detail from Target. However, it reiterated that the game is releasing on the previous planned date.
"The project has lingered for years due to a number of obstacles such as former publisher THQ's bankruptcy, as well as previous money problems at its second owner Crytek. Its latest proprietor, Koch Media, declined to comment on the leak, aside from stating that Homefront: The Revolution is scheduled to ship "Spring 2016," CNET wrote, as shared by Win Beta.
As for its gameplay, it will deliver a new gaming experience as there's a new team, new publisher and new backstory, PS Lifestyle reported.
"We've gone back to the core concept of "Homefront" - a fallen occupied America with a North Korean military presence and civilian resistance movement - and expanded it out by 360 degrees," said Senior Narrative Designer CJ Kershner to MCV UK, per PS Lifestyle.
"Dambuster is making its own unique mark on the name of Homefront, so anything that you remember or know about the first game: forget it now. It's not a continuation of that story or that style of gameplay. There's a reason we don't call it 'Homefront 2,'"he added.
In a separate interview published by WCCFTech, he stated that the developers are aiming for a 1080p resolution on all platforms, and 30fps on Xbox One and PS4 consoles, Attack of the Fanboy reported.
"Homefront: The Revolution" will be available to PS4, Xbox One and PC when released. Beta version will be exclusive to Xbox One by early 2016, according to the developers' previous statement.
